マイヤー製薬（Meyer Pharmaceuticals）上級副社長兼科学技術最高責任者でおられる潟永哲也氏に来ていただき、アメリカで製薬会社を立ち上げられた経緯について講演していただきました。

潟永氏は、UCIで第一線の研究者としてご活躍後、製薬会社の立ち上げに関わられ、現在はマイヤー製薬の副社長として日米を股にかけて活躍されています。上級副社長である一方、過去実際に研究の経験を持つ科学技術最高責任者である氏をお迎えして、現在に至るまでの経歴についてその方法や戦略、そして今後の夢や構想についても伺いました。

Tetsuya Gatanaga, Ph.D. is Executive Vice President, Chief Scientific Officer of Meyer Pharmaceuticals, and co-inventor of Meyer’s anti-inflammatory protein therapies. Dr. Gatanaga joined Meyer Pharmaceuticals in 1996. He is actively involved in our technology transfer activities, and oversees all scientific programs at Meyer. He was previously at the University of California, Irvine in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, where he conducted research into the regulation of inflammatory cytokines such as TNF.
